“Ton Sur Ton” : French for tone on tone or loosely monochrome. The first of a series of high key white on black paintings, 12×12 inches in a black floater frame. I like the texture the gesso has on its black canvas. Both the face in a strip of light and the hat are rough and grilled. Very striking and unusual in this world of color.
